Problem with Lemongrass fragrance.

"I having a serious problem with the Lemongrass fragrance. Every time I light the wick the entire top of the candle starts burning (the wax). I’ve been making candles a long time and have never had anything like this happen. I made sure I used the correct percentage of fragrance and tried several size wicks and it continues. Ive made sure the lighter did not touch the candle. This is very concerning? Please advise…"

Wow wow wow

"This is such an amazing lemongrass. I LOVE lemongrass. Was always one of my go to scents before I started making candles. I just smelled it out of the bottle and mixed it into coco soy last night. In my coco soy I normally have a 10/10 CT but this CT is like 12/10, whooooweee. I can't wait to burn this candle. If it's anything less than amazing I will report back but all signs aren't pointing to an amazing fragrance experience. I'll be buying a huge bottle after this tester gets burned most likely."

Q&A

I have some old coriander lemongrass and it smells beautiful blended. Need to know which oil to buy, because I don't see that one. Just lemongrass.
Thanks for your question! Coriander Lemongrass was discontinued in 2023. Although the two are not the exact same fragrance, the profiles are very similar. Coriander Lemongrass notes: Lemongrass / Coriander / Warm Musk, Vanilla Lemongrass notes: Lemongrass, Ozone, Lemon, Lime / Apple, Rose Blossom / Sandalwood, Vanilla, Musk
I've been using Lemongrass FO for my wax melts but now starting to use for container candles with Pro blend 600. I see that the max usage for this FO is 100%.. does that mean that there isn't a limit to how much can be used in a candle? Asking because I am not getting a very good hot throw so far but love this scent so much... really want to figure it out. I've used a 8%, 9% and 10% FO thus far... HT is very soft and would like it to be stronger.
Thank you for reaching out to us. All IFRA state 100% for fragrance oils in the candles category. However, the 100% means you would need to reference the specific wax you are using to know the maximum fragrance load it can hold. For example, the ProBlend 600 wax has a maximum fragrance load of 12%. The 12% would be considered the 100% for this category on the IFRA since you are using the maximum fragrance load possible.
