Here are a few common questions we get and quick answers.
Using Crayons To Color Your Candles
***DON'T***
Why are crayons not recommended for use in candle making? This is a common mistake that you will find in many online candle making tutorials. Since crayons are not made for candle making, they can cause undesireable effects in the finished candle. The most common problem is proper combustion as the crayon pigments will clog the candle wick as it pulls and burns the wax. These crayons pigments may be bright, pretty and tempting, but they are not the best choice to add color to your homemade candles. Candle dye comes in many forms and is very economical for even hobbyists. Choose from candle dye blocks, candle dye chips, or liquid candle dye. Remember that soy wax will always produce softer, more pastel colors and paraffin wax will give you rich, deep colors.
